In this document Moniepoint GB Limited / MonieWorld may be referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”.
MonieWorld collects personal data for various purposes; with that in mind we have created a list of the types of personal data that we may collect, either directly from yourself or from other sources, in order to achieve those purposes.

MonieWorld services are not designed for under 18s, age controls are in place to ensure that customers under the age of 18 are not able to open an account.
Legal Obligations
MonieWorld uses personal data firstly to fulfil any contractual obligations that exist between us and yourself. Where we request personal data be provided to enter into, or meet the terms of any such contract, you will be required to provide the relevant personal data or we will not be able to deliver the goods or services you want. In such cases the lawful basis of us processing the personal data is that it is necessary for the performance of a contract.
We are required by law to process personal data for purposes relating to our legal obligations, these include:
To provide for our financial commitments, or to relevant financial authorities.
To comply with legal and/or regulatory requirements and any self-regulatory schemes.
To carry out required business operations and due diligence.
To cooperate with relevant authorities for reporting criminal activity, or to detect and prevent fraud.

MonieWorld may process personal data for the following purposes where it has received consent to do so:

Subscribing to email newsletters. We will also get your express consent before we share your personal data with any third party for their own direct marketing purposes.
You may withdraw your consent for us to process your personal data for these purposes at any time; after a withdrawal of consent request is received, we may have to contact you to verify the request.
Withdrawing your consent for us to process your personal data will not affect the lawfulness of the processing beforehand.

We will collect personal data directly from you in various ways. This could include when you complete an online form, or if you provide the data directly to a representative of MonieWorld.
We collect some personal data from publicly accessible sources such as:
Analytics providers such as Google, advertising networks and search information providers. Also credit referencing companies.
We may also gather personal data by any of the following methods:
From technical functionality that gathers data automatically from computer equipment when people visit our online platforms.
From platforms that make use of device settings that allow geographical location tracking, such as IP Address mapping, WiFi, GPS signals and cell tower positioning.
From third-party organisations provided for future marketing purposes.
To achieve the above stated purposes for which we process your personal data, we may have to share your personal data with certain third parties. These include:

in response to a subpoena, warrant, court order, properly constituted police request or as otherwise required by law;
to recover debt or in relation to your insolvency or to allow a party or a financial institution that sent money to recover money received by you in error or due to fraud;
to develop customer relationships, services and systems; and
if you consent, to share your details when using our Services.
As a part of our standard business practices, we may transfer your personal data to organisations based in countries that have not been granted an adequacy decision under the General Data Protection Regulation.
Where data is transferred to such countries, we shall ensure that specific safeguards or derogations have been established.
These might include where the data transfer is necessary in order to fulfil a contract between us and yourself, where we have received your specific consent after having made you aware of any risks involved, or where contracts are in place between us and the third-parties involved that ensures the recipient organisation has a suitable standard of data protection in place.
We will keep your personal data only for as long as required to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, in line with this privacy policy.
The following criteria are what determine the period for which we will keep your personal data:
Until we are no longer required to do so to comply with regulatory requirements or financial obligations.
Until we are no longer required to do so by any law we are subject to.

MonieWorld respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data, including facial data. This section explains how we collect, use, share, and retain facial data in compliance with applicable regulations, including The Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 (“MLRs 2017”).
1. How We Use Facial Data
We collect and use facial data strictly for security and customer due diligence (“CDD”) purposes. The primary use cases are as follows:
1.1. Facial Scan Data extracted from your photo (known as ‘biometric data’ or ‘FaceID’) for the purpose of ID Authentication:
If you opt-in, your device's native facial recognition feature can be used for various security-related actions, such as logging into the MonieWorld app, approving transactions, and verifying sensitive account changes.
This authentication process is performed locally on your device and is not collected, stored, or retained by MonieWorld.
1.2. CDD and Identity Verification:
We collect a photo ID and a selfie image as part of our identity verification process to comply with the MLRs 2017.
This data is used to verify your identity, assess risk, and meet regulatory requirements.
1.3. Likeness Checks for Security Purposes:
In some instances, MonieWorld may require users to perform a likeness check by comparing a live image against the stored user image.
This additional verification helps protect against fraud and unauthorized access to your account.
2. Sharing of Facial Data
MonieWorld shares facial data only with our trusted identity verification provider, which processes data on our behalf for the sole purposes outlined above. The provider is contractually obligated to handle your data securely and in compliance with relevant data protection laws.
3. Retention of Facial Data
Facial Scan Data for ID Authentication: MonieWorld does not collect or retain facial scan data used for authentication purposes. This data remains stored only on your device and is processed locally.
Photo ID and Selfie Data and Likeness Check Data: Retained for the period required under the MLRs 2017, Section 40, which mandates a minimum retention period of five years following the end of the customer relationship, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Automated decision making takes place when an electronic system uses personal data to make a decision without manual human input. MonieWorld uses automated decision-making processes as part of our customer onboarding and due diligence procedures. We carry out these procedures in order to fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations. There are several rights granted to you immediately upon providing us with your personal information; some of these are mentioned above. We’d like you to know that at MonieWorld we take your rights seriously and will always conduct ourselves in a way that is considerate of our responsibility to serve your legal rights.
This grants you the right to confirm whether or not your personal data is being processed, and to be provided with relevant details of what those processing operations are and what personal data of yours is being processed.
If you would like access to the personal data we have about you, we ask that you contact us using the details below.
This one is fairly straightforward; if you notice that the data we have about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request we rectify the mistake. We will make every effort to respond to requests of this type immediately.
Otherwise known as the ‘right to be forgotten’, this gives you the right to request your personal data be deleted.
This is not an absolute right; if you were to request that we erase your personal data, we would erase as much of that data as we could but may have to retain some information if it is necessary.
Where we have received a request for personal data to be erased, if it is necessary for us to retain some of that information we shall ensure that the remaining data is used only when and where it is absolutely necessary.
The right to object is a basic freedom all democracies enjoy. If you wish to object to the way we use, or have used, your personal data you may do so freely.
This is a legal right afforded to you that states we must pass on all of the details you have provided to us in a machine-readable format, either to your or to another provider of your choosing.
